How can I submit my site so it's crawled by the Vamoose spider for inclusion in the index?
Vamoose crawls millions and millions of pages looking for vacation rental properties. Due to a multitude of reasons, vacation rental properties may not be captured and put into the index. Usually, our crawler will not recognize a page as a rental property if there is not enough data on the page, or if our spider was not able to find or get on your site. You have two options to have your properties included. The first is to
sign-up for an advertiser account and create and sponsor your listings. If you're not ready to sponsor your properties, please fill out the request form and provide your website URL. We will add your URL to our site index for inclusion in the next spider crawl update.

I don't want to have my property listings in the Vamoose index. How do I stop the spider from crawling my site?
The Vamoose Spider will take robots.txt standards into account to ensure that we do not crawl and index those pages that you would not like to have included in Vamoose search results. If a page is disallowed by robots.txt standards to be crawled, it is neither considered for inclusion nor placed in the Vamoose index.

How do I submit my site for a reciprocal link exchange with Vamoose?
Vamoose is always looking to conduct reciprocal link exchanges with high quality travel-related websites.

Why is Vamoose crawling my website?
The Vamoose Spider is Vamoose's indexing robot. The spider crawls and collects information from the Web to build a free, searchable index of vacation rental properties. As part of the crawling effort, the Vamoose Spider will take robots.txt standards into account to ensure that we do not crawl and index those pages that you would not like to have included in Vamoose search results. If a page is disallowed by robots.txt standards to be crawled, it is neither considered for inclusion nor placed in the Vamoose index.

How do I remove my property information or images from the Vamoose index?
If you need your property information and images removed from the Vamoose index we require participation either by the site owner or site webmaster. Please add a robots.txt file to the root of the server. (If you can't put it in the server root, you can put it at directory level.)

Example: If your site is www.yoursite.com/listing1.htm and you want Vamoose to exclude the listing1.htm file found on your site, you need to create a page called www.yoursite.com/robots.txt. On this page you need to place the following text:

User-agent: Vamoose-Spider
Disallow: /listing1.htm

To remove property information and images on your site from our index, place the following robots.txt file in your server root:

User-agent: Vamoose-Spider
Disallow: /

To prevent all spiders from crawling your site, place the following robots.txt file in your server root:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /

This is the standard protocol most Web crawlers observe for excluding a Web server or directory from an index. More information on robots.txt is available here:
http://www.robotstxt.org/wc/norobots.html. If you do not have access to the server that hosts your property information, please fill out the removal request form and Vamoose will process your request.

How do I report abuse or incorrect information in a review of my property?
Within the review itself is a "Report Abuse" link. Please use that link, fill in what you believe to be the abuse, and Vamoose Customer Service will review your message and take any necessary action to resolve the issue.

Are there copyright restrictions associated with the images?
The thumbnail images identified by the Vamoose Search service are provided strictly as a navigational tool. Users are linked to the originating Web site on which the pictures are located, and may be protected by copyrights. Although visitors can locate and access thumbnail images and the property information through our service, Vamoose cannot grant rights to use them for any purpose other than viewing them on the Web. Accordingly, if you would like to use any images you have found through our site, Vamoose advises you to contact the site owner to obtain the requisite permissions.
