The performances take place at the historic Plaza Theater.

On North Palm Canyon Drive, you will find the Palm Canyon Theatre. Founders of the theatre, Bill and Sylvia Layne visited the desert for many years and realized a need for good theater entertainment that was affordable. Working with the city, they obtained an old school house and turned it into a theater. After more than 10 years, the Palm Canyon Theatre hosts a variety of plays from Shakespeare to comedies and much more. 

Located in Joshua Tree is the Hi-Desert (Playhouse) Cultural Center. This center for culture was founded in 1967 and has provided the area with great entertainment for over 43 years. The historic center was recently renamed as the Kaye Ballard Playhouse and has live, professional performances as well as instruction in the arts, including drama, music, and dance to name a few. This venue is just a short distance from Palm Springs.
