Hobe Sound
The quaint village of Hobe Sound is a great place to explore the natural beauty of the Treasure Coast. There you will find the Jonathan Dickinson State Park, which is home to Florida's first river to be recognized as a federal Wild and Scenic River, the Loxahatchee. You can enjoy a scenic ride aboard the Loxahatchee Queen II, or go horseback riding, hiking, camping or cycling, with more than 11,000 acres to cover. The Hobe Sound village has lovely shops, art galleries and boutiques, and holds a number of cultural events, like the Hobe Sound Festival of the Arts, or the Hobe Sound Art Walk and Stroll.
Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center
For a brush with Florida's marine life, remember to visit the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center. See stingray feedings, watch sharks swim around, or take a boat tour and say hello to the turtles, manatees and dolphins. Explore the many touch tanks and aquariums at the center, or go on a guided nature trail and explore the scenic beauty all around.
US Navy SEAL Museum
Learning something new is always fun, even when on a vacation. The National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum houses a fascinating display that educates visitors on the history of the U.S Navy's UDT (Underwater Demolition Teams) and Sea, Air, Land (SEAL) Teams. If military history fascinates you, then do not miss this place.
