The Orlando Science Center is a must-see sight for anyone, especially families. It's also one of the most fun places to spend a rainy Florida day. The building is composed of 4 floors filled to the brim with interesting exhibits. The interactive exhibits include NatureWorks, which is your chance to discover the ecosystems of the world. The live alligators in the cypress swamp are sure to be a huge hit with everyone. Other exhibits include a Dino area where visitors can examine fossils and a whole area devoted to frogs. There are also tons of other exhibits, both permanent and touring, that make-up the science center. Movies, several live demonstrations, and an observatory are other major activities at this attraction. Admission is $17 per adult and $12 per child. The Orlando Science Center is open every day but Wednesday, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Leu Gardens
The Harry P. Leu Gardens is a botanical garden located near your Disney World vacation home. It has 50 acres of lush landscapes and southern-style gardens. Aside from being home to the largest formal rose garden in the state of Florida, Leu Gardens has the second biggest Camellia garden in the country. There is also an herb garden and even a butterfly garden. Visitors can walk the 3 miles of paved walkways and explore the flowers and plants in all their natural beauty. Be sure to bring your camera and take lots of pictures of the gorgeous flowers. The Leu Gardens are open every day except holidays, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is $7 per person.
Medieval Times
Medieval Times makes visitors feel like they are hundreds of years away from their Disney World home rental. Visitors enter the huge castle-like building of Medieval Times and instantly become part of the world of knights. Each guest is assigned a different colored crown. This is the colored section that guests will be seated in and also the colored knight that they'll be rooting for to win. Visitors are served a hearty medieval meal of chicken, soup and bread which they eat with their hands. As guests eat their meals, a show complete with jousting knights on real horses is performed before them. Admission is $60 per adult and there is a nightly 7:00 pm show.
Richard Petty Driving Experience
The Richard Petty Driving Experience is located at the Walt Disney World Speedway. Visitors can experience the high speed as a passenger by sitting in a special 2-seat NASCAR vehicle. This consists of 3 laps around the huge track at speeds of 165 mph. The other way to experience this must-see attraction near Disney World is to take the wheel yourself. You can go around the track at least 8 laps and feel the speed that is at your command. The NASCAR experience starts at $110 per person. You'll be sure to test the speed limits on the way back to your Disney World home rental.
