- Congo River Adventure Golf gives miniature golf a whole new meaning. Travel on an African adventure past waterfalls and through caves on one of two fun-filled18 hole courses while searching for hidden artifacts. Visit the interactive alligator exhibit where you can grab a pole and feed live gators if you dare. Located at 6312 and 5901 International Drive hours are Sunday to Thursday 10am to 11pm, Friday and Saturday 10am to midnight. Rates; adults $10.95, kids $8.95, under 5 free
- Harry P. Leu Gardens provides a relaxing day watching Swallowtails feed in the Butterfly Garden or exploring the grounds shaded by elms and oaks. The garden hosts special events throughout the year; check their website for details. Located at 1920 North Forest Avenue hours are daily from 9am to 5pm. Admission; $7 adults, $2 children grades K to 12.
- 110 acre Gatorland park and wildlife preserve is a must-see offering a full day of fun from the minute you walk through the gaping gator mouth entrance. Watch in awe as wranglers handle gators, get wet at Gator Gully Splash Park, play with the kids at Allie's Barnyard or visit the friendly lorikeets in the aviary. Located at 14501 South Orange Blossom Trail. Open daily 9am to 5pm. Admission; $22.99 adults, $14.99 kids. Get up a little closer to gators in the breeding marsh for $10 more or take unlimited train rides for $2
- Fantasy of Flight offers a glimpse of aviation from early flight to the 1950s. Take a Tram tour of the restricted areas which stops in the back lot at the maintenance hangar, learn about the Tuskegee Airman at the multi-media exhibit 'They Dared to Fly', step aboard the simulated aircraft carrier and play an aerial battle video game, then view an aerial demonstration from the tarmac as vintage aircraft take flight. Located in Polk City it's a short drive from Disney rentals. Follow signs heading west on I-4. Open daily from 10am to 5pm. Admission; $28.95adults, $14.95 children 6 to 15, kids under 5 free
- Dinosaur World is great fun for the whole family. The forests are home to more than 150 life size dinosaurs and the museum displays dino eggs and raptor claws. Become a palaeontologist for the afternoon and dig for authentic fossils or gaze upon skeletal remains in the Skeleton Garden. Bring a picnic to complete your day. Located off I-4 at exit 17 in Plant City. Open daily from 9am to 6pm closing at 5pm November, December and January. Rates; adult $12.75, children 3 to 12 $9.75, friendly pets on leashes free
