Festivals & Events near Your Sun Valley Vacation Rental

The Sun Valley Summer Symphony

Presented every July and August is the Sun Valley Summer Symphony. Started in 1984, the festival celebrates classical music through performances and educational programming. Every evening, the festival presents an one-hour concert in the Sun Valley Pavilion.  The audience is welcome to bring picnics and enjoy the music and the beautiful Alpine surroundings. The festival also presents musical workshops and performances by special guest artists. All events and performances are free. A visit to this festival would be a fun evening out from Sun Valley vacation home.

The Sun Valley Nordic Festival

During the last week in January, Nordic Town U.S.A. presents the Sun Valley Nordic Festival. This one-week event has dog sledding, skiing and snow shoeing races and events. There are also musical performances, food tastings and clinics. In the clinics, attendees learn how to improve their skiing and ice skating techniques as well as how to deal with emergencies on off-track ski slopes and trails. A host of organized dinners are given during the festival. Non-competitive skiing, skating and snow shoeing activities take place. Some events require a ticket purchase. 

The Sun Valley Jazz Jamboree

Every October is the Sun Valley Jazz Jamboree. This four-day event focuses on jazz music and bands from around the country. Each night, the event presents three or four different jazz bands in different venues throughout the city. Many of the venues have dancing areas and offer free dancing lessons. There are food and beverage booths. Free shuttle service between each venue is provided and special day badges, which allow entry to each venue, are required. Student discounts are available, and children 13 and under are admitted for free. 

The Ketchum Arts Festival

In nearby Ketchum, Idaho, is the Ketchum Arts Festival. Every July, Blaine County hosts the arts and crafts festival that features the work of local residents. The purpose of the festival is to showcase area talent and give artists a chance to display and sell their work. Open to all Blaine County artists, this festival is a unique way for residents of the county to celebrate the community's diversity and artistic culture. Although the festival is targeted towards Blaine County residents, all visitors are welcome. Admission to the festival is free.
