Beautiful White Sand Beaches near Kennebunk Rentals

Discover beautiful white-sand beaches near Kennebunk rentals. The Southern Coast of Maine, which includes noteworthy towns like York, Ogunquit, Saco and Kennebunkport, is widely known for its beaches. In fact, splendid coastal scenery and broad, white sandy beaches painted against the backdrop of New England villages are the trademarks of this place. Feast your eyes on the wondrous beaches that you’ll see while staying at your Southern Coast vacation home.

Mother’s Beach

Mother’s Beach should be one of the first stops on a beach-hopping adventure to Maine. This short beach section covered with pure white sand is a well-protected area with lifeguards on duty during most hours of the day. There is also a playground for the kids where they can goof around when they want to take a break from the waters. Here, you can spend a quiet afternoon reading a book or rest after feasting on Maine’s signature lobster from one of the many incredible seafood restaurants nearby.

Gooch’s Beach

This beach is known as the largest part of Kennebunk Beach located along Beach Avenue. If you take a close look at its sand, you’ll find that it’s indeed white and powdery, something that you won’t see on a regular beach. If you’re going here for a day trip, be sure to bring your own food, as there are no snack bars located on this stretch. However, you'll be glad to know there are portable toilets for your comfort and convenience. Safety is also ensured as lifeguards are on duty the whole day.

Middle Beach

Between Mother’s and Gooch’s beaches sits another popular beach hangout known for its rocky shorelines and exquisite black stones, ideal for a day of beach combing. The Middle Beach, with its serene ambience, is the perfect place to cap a day of shopping at the antique stores or local boutiques at Kittery or visiting the classic lighthouses for which Maine is also famous.

Colony Beach

Where fresh water meets salt water: That’s what the 150-foot Colony Beach is all about, as it is located at the opening of Kennebunk River. Colony Beach also features extraordinary vistas that can instantly calm your mind and psyche. Although you will generally enjoy your stay here, keep in mind that this beach has no lifeguards and parking is limited.

Cleaves Cove Beach

If you’re looking for the ultimate in relaxation, head to Cleaves Cove Beach, a secluded area with breathtaking vistas. It’s an easy find, as it is located just off Ocean Avenue. It's best to get here on foot or on bike, as there is no parking available. There are no facilities or lifeguards either.

Goose Rocks Beach

For those who love to stroll along beaches on barefoot, Goose Rocks Beach is the ideal stretch. It is famed for extremely soft sand that won’t hurt your feet while you walk around to enjoy the majestic views of the place. Like Cleaves Cove, this one also doesn’t have any facilities or lifeguards.
