Harbor Springs Rental Listings for Vacations, and Practice Your Swing at Local Golf Courses

After a long productive day of swinging your club and decreasing your handicap, Harbor Springs Rentals provide the perfect respite. This quaint town in Michigan is known for its natural beauty and the bike paths with spectacular views, along with some of the best golf courses. Here is a look at a select few of the very best golf courses you can visit.

Little Traverse Bay Golf Course

This 18-hole golf course is nestled high in the forested hills. Golf Digest rated Little Traverse Bay as a 4.5-star golf course. It is a traditional course that offers breathtaking views of Little Traverse Bay and three island lakes. Lake Traverse Bay is considered as the 2nd most woman-friendly golf course by Golf Digest. The course has several elevation changes, which make this course very challenging. While you are here, do visit the club restaurant and have a nice lunch.

True North Golf Club

True North, an 18-hole course, is located at 2500 True North Drive. This course is designed by Jim Engh. You could opt to get private golf instructions from John Myers golf Academy. They offer group and individual lessons; you can choose between per-hour lessons or unlimited seasonal instructions and an on-course playing lesson. They will soon be launching the Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf.

Boyne Highlands

Boyce Highland offers four magnificent championship golf courses, namely, the Heather Course, Donald Ross Memorial Course, the Arthur Hills and the Moor.

The Heather: The Heather golf course is designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., and hosted the Michigan Amateur Championship. Jones' signature is visible throughout the course from the tree-lined doglegs, to the raised greens and the splashed bunkers. The first par 3 requires a carry over water. The 18th hole is the most difficult one; it goes downhill and has a carry over water of about 150 yards before it reaches the green. Overall, it is a course that every golfer would love.

The Arthur Hills: The most fascinating feature of Arthur Hills is the fact that after the first few holes, you end up playing golf in a pine forest. There is abundance of wildlife around, and it is not uncommon to spot deer or several species of birds by the waterfront. It is one of the few golf courses where carrying a camera with you is a must.

Donald Ross Memorial Course: This golf course was designed by Newcomb, E. Kircher, Flick and S. Kircher. Each hole on this course is designed to replicate another hole from a different course designed by Donald Ross, except the 10th hole. This course is 6,814 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course is set with several doglegs and marshes and has a carry over water on the 11thhole.

The Moor: This course was designed by Bill Newcomb. It spans 6850 yards and offers a whole set of challenges from marshes to doglegs and water hazards.
