You will love the atmosphere of the tasting room which showcases a round bar that is constructed of oak barrels with a cozy fireplace to complete your day of luxury. The tasting bar offers five flavorsome samples from a large variety of Black Star Wines and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 2 to 9 PM. Left Foot Charley Winery & Tasting Room
You will find Left Foot Charley Winery & Tasting Room in the heart of Traverse City at The Village, the most prevalent historical refurbishment development in the United States. This Winery specializes in Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, and Gewurztraminer, as they flourish in Northern Michigan. Left Foot Charley obtains all their wine from the local family-owned vineyards. These vineyards are rather small in size, ranging from one to six acres per vineyard, like Island View Vineyards that grows approximately 1,100 plants right in their front yard or Tale Feathers Vineyard, known for their solar panels to create sugar from the sun.
Something quite unique about Charley's is the opportunity to purchase a one-liter growler bottle for only $5 to fill with wine or hard cider straight from the tank. Choose from either Gewurzling or Riesling wines on tap. Once your bottle is empty, simply bring it back for a refill at an additional charge.
Sit outdoors under the oversized umbrellas to enjoy the perfect glass of wine with some tasty light snack treats while you pair it with the recommended wines. Try the Smokey Cucumber Cups with a glass of 2008 Seventh Hill Farm Riesling or The Sausage Trio with the 2009 Dry Rose.
