Take a Day Trip from Point Pleasant Summer Rentals

Booking one of the Point Pleasant summer rentals is an excellent choice if you’re the type of traveler who wants to see it all. Point Pleasant's central location makes it one of the top starting points when you’re planning to visit the historical sites, amusement parks, casinos and estuaries near Philadelphia and New York. When staying in one of the Point Pleasant vacation homes, take the time to visit some recommended day trips.

Howell Living History Farm

Drive your way to Lambertville and drop by at the Howell Living History Farm. It is best to visit on a weekend as they have planned activities for children on Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is free, but you may have to pay $3 per person for the weekend events. For the entire day, you can act as if you’ve lived in the farm all your life; help pick and wash the tomatoes, care for the horses, bake your own cookies and get up close and personal with the chickens, sheep and pigs.

Liberty Science Center

The Liberty Science Center in Jersey City features permanent exhibitions showcasing the latest in science and technology. As of winter 2010, ticket prices range from $5 to $30, depending on which attraction inside the center you want to see. You’ll surely enjoy the Rock Climbing Wall and walk across a narrow beam 18 feet above the exhibition floor.

Presby Memorial Iris Gardens

If you want to get in touch in nature, visit the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens in Upper Montclair. Admission is free in this newly designated National Historic Site. The park features around 4,000 varieties of irises. The best time to visit is from late May to June.
