You will need a parking permit for the 2 parking areas.

Kirk Park Beach

This popular beach is found at the entrance to Montauk village. Also known as the Umbrella and IGA beach, it is uncrowded and perfect for a relaxing swim and sunbathing. Lifeguards are available between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.  With a permit, you can drive your 4x4 on the beach. A parking permit is required to park in the public parking here.

Gin Beach

This beach is situated at the Montauk Harbor Inlet. The expansive beach stretches miles right up to Shagwong Point. The calm waters of the Block Island sound make it an ideal place to swim. The safe swimming area is roped off, and swimming is prohibited in the other areas. Lifeguards are available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The beach has amenities such as restrooms, showers and a parking lot. You will need to obtain a permit to drive your SUV on the beach.
