Where to Party near Corolla Vacation Homes

So you have secured your dream Corolla vacation home on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and now you are ready to find the hot spots to party. Corolla is small village in the northern most tip of the Outer Banks. It is situated on a small strip of land between the Currituck Sound and the Atlantic Ocean accessible by a winding two lane highway.

While your Corolla home is not the most secluded part of the Outer Banks, its remote location means that you will have to search out bars and other night spots in nearby villages if you want to dance into the night or have a late night cocktail. The southern-most towns including Duck, Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills have more of a nightlife than Corolla.

Corolla

In the village of Corolla many of the night spots will be bar & restaurant settings. As with many of the beach towns on the Outer Banks, be sure to check with the particular establishment for hours of operation during non-peak times. Many places operate during limited hours or shut down completely during the winter months.

  • Sundogs Sports Bar & Grill ‎is located in the Food Lion shopping center in the main shopping complex. They often have live entertainment from bands to comedy.
  • Metropolis Little Bar & Bistro‎ boasts being "urban, chic" serving martinis and tapas.

Duck

The remote setting of Corolla lends to its charm, but sometimes if you are looking for a little more nightlife you have to venture south. Duck offers a few more restaurants and bars for nightly entertainment.

  • Fishbones Sunset Grille & Bar is a great place to, as the name says, watch the sunset. Be sure to get there early though because no matter the season the restaurant and bars fills up quickly.
  • If you are looking for something a little more upscale visit The Blue Point, also located on the Currituck Sound, where they serve "Southern Coast al Cuisine" and manage an extensive wine list.

Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills

If you haven't found something to suit your needs in Corolla or Duck, make your way further south to the towns of Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills. They are closer to the mainland and offer a variety of night spots from nightclubs to pubs.

  • Lucky 12 Tavern has been called a great late night hang out. If you're looking for a great place to party during the big name, Lucky 12 has the high definition televisions for your viewing pleasure.
  • Pit Surf Shop & Boardriders began as a local surf shop and now is a hip place to hangout, grab a bite to eat, listen to your great band or dance the night away with a DJ.

House Party

The obvious, not to be forgotten, place to have a party is in your Corolla vacation home. Rent a party keg at the local brewery, the Weeping Radish, buy bottles of wines from the nearby Duplin winery and order food from your pick of caterers on the Outer Banks and you will have the perfect recipe for a house party. If you want to go all out, rent a dance floor from Metro Rentals and call in a DJ. Before you plan that big house party, be sure to check your vacation home lease terms on throwing parties.
