The Red Rock relay features a 186-mile running descent from Brian Head Resort located 10,500 feet up the mountains. The race usually takes about one to two days to complete depending on the speed and determination of the team members. Since running down the steep and slippery slopes of the mountain can quite dangerous, the organizers of the race limit the number the relay participants and only those who belong to accredited running teams are allowed to participate. However, support crew and visitors may ride the party vehicles following the runners. During the night, visitors may camp with the runners and their support crew at designated areas along the racing trail.

2. Shakespeare Festival

If you want to experience a fascinating night with Shakespeare, you should attend the Utah Shakespearean Festival near Brian Head. The festival runs two seasons, the summer and the fall. The summer season starts during the late part of June until Labor Day while the fall season commences towards the end of September and runs through the month of October.

Highlights of the summer festival include The Greenshow featuring spirited songs and dances, storytelling sessions by artists wearing full Shakespearean costumes, and juggling. During the winter festival, the Adams Shakespearean Theatre presents some of the most famous plays by Shakespeare. 

3. Town Potato Peel & Potluck Social

To truly experience the local tradition of the town, you should join the Town Potato Peel and Potluck Social held during the month of September. To get into the festival mood, bring along your best paring knife and join the locals at the Navajo Lodge for a fun-filled potato peeling and cooking session.

4. Annual Oktoberfest

Although the Oktoberfest is originally a German celebration, the people at Brian head have adopted the beer-drinking tradition and made it part of the town's annual list of events and festivals. During the festival, most restaurants and resorts around town offer authentic German food and beer.
